Cytoplasm is the part of the cell outside the
nucleus. Strictly speaking, this includes all
the organelles (mitochondria, chloroplasts,
and so on), but often cytoplasm refers to the
jellylike matter in which the organelles are
embedded (correctly termed the cytosol).
